Children's Clothing, Toy & Equipment Resales: Fall 2012 Edition

It's that time of year again -- time to mark you calendars in preparation for scoring some deals at massive resale events!

Some of the events ban children, strollers, wagons or laundry baskets. Most sell items for half-price later in the day. And most are still looking for volunteers to help out -- volunteers get to shop the presale, usually held a day before the event is open to the general public.

SEPTEMBER

Step by Step Childhood Enrichment PTA Fall/Winter Resale: Saturday, Sept. 8, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and then a half-price sale from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 W. Manchester Road in Wheaton, in Building 4.

Double Blessings Fall/Winter Resale: This DuPage County-area multiples club is holding its resale Saturday, Sept. 8, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 W. Manchester Road in Wheaton, in the Exhibition Building. 

DuPage Doubles Clothing & Equipment Sale: Saturday, Sept. 8, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Main Exhibit Hall (West Side) at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, located at 2015 Manchester Road in Wheaton.

DuPage Chapter Mothers & More Semi-Annual Clothing and Toy Resale Fundraiser: Saturday, Sept. 8, from 7:30 a.m. to noon and then from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for the 1/2 price sale. The sale is at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, Home Economics Building, 2015 Manchester Road in Wheaton. 

Owen Elementary School Fall/Winter Children's Resale: Saturday, Sept. 8, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and then from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the school gym, located at 1560 Westglen Drive in Naperville.

Tri-Cities Mothers of Twins and Triplets Club: Saturday, Sept. 15, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mooseheart Field House, Route 31 and Mooseheart Road between North Aurora and Batavia.

Timothy Christian Schools’ Children’s Fall Toy & Clothing Resale: Saturday, Sept. 15 from 8 a.m. to noon in the school gym, located at 188 W. Butterfield Road in Elmhurst.

Southwest Suburban Moms of Multiples Fall/Winter Children’s Resale:  Saturday, Sept. 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1718 Avalon Avenue in Joliet. $1 admission. Cash only. Questions, contact Kristine at swsmoms@yahoo.com

Bugaboo Children’s Consignment Sale:  Friday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and a half-price sale on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kendall County Fairgrounds, located at Route 71 and E. Highpoint Road in Yorkville.

Curly Q Children's Clothing & Toy Consignment Sale: Friday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the "Trades 1 Building" at the Kane County Fairgrounds, located at 525 S. Randall Road in St. Charles.

Western Avenue School Semi-Annual Clothing Sale: Friday, Sept. 28, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday,  Sept. 29, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the school, located at 1500 Western Avenue in Geneva. 

John Shields and McDole Elementary Toy and Clothing Resale: Saturday, Sept. 28,  from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 29, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sugar Grove Community House at 141 S. Main Street in Sugar Grove, near Cross and Route 47.

Triplet Tree Semi-Annual Fall & Winter Children's Clothing, Toy & Equipment Resale: Saturday, Sept. 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bethany United Methodist Church, 2200 Ridge Ave. in Aurora. The sale doesn't have a website (although it has a Facebook page you can like) so here are the details: The cash-only sale will feature gently used fall and winter clothes for newborn on up, as well as maternity clothes, toys, games, videos, books and equipment (portable cribs, walkers, etc.) The sale will close from 11:45 a.m to noon and re-open at noon until 1 p.m. for ½ price on select items. No strollers or wagons, please. Instead, it is suggested you bring a laundry basket to hold your purchases. Questions? Contact Laura at laurahall11@sbcglobal.net

OCTOBER

Kaneland John Stewart Fall & Winter Clothing Sale: Friday, Oct. 5, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 6, from 8 a.m. to noon. The sale will be held in the Kaneland John Stewart Gym, located at 817 Prairie Valley Drive in Elburn. 

Oswego Area Mothers & More Children’s Clothing & Toy Resale: Saturday, Oct. 13, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Long Beach Elementary School at 67 Long Beach Road in Montgomery.
