Five Great ... Spring Break Camps

March is just a few days away, which means spring break is just around the corner. If your family isn't heading someplace warm and tropical, well join the club! But here are five unique spring break camps that will keep your kids busy while they're off school. If you know of more, please share them in the comments.

LET'S HIT THE BEACH: Nido Art Studio in Aurora is holding a "Spring Break Art Camp" with the theme of "A Week at the Beach." The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon the week of March 26 through March 30 and is open for children from kindergarten through 5th grade. Kids will be able to work in variety of mediums -- including papier-mache and ceramics -- and on a bunch of projects. The cost is $125 for the entire week. UP, UP & AWAY: The DuPage Children's Museum in Naperville is hosting an "Up, Up & Away" camp for children ages 7-10. Kids will design, build and test their own aircraft while studying the physics principles that make flight possible. Camp will be held on March 26 and March 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. LEGOS! The DuPage Children's Museum in Naperville also has engineering-themed camps using LEGOS for children age 5-6 and 7-10 that run the entire week of March 26 through March 30. GO BALLISTIC: SciTech Hands on Museum in Aurora is hosting the "Totally Ballistic Spring Break Camp" in which kids will learn about force and inertia by launching rockets, slinging a catapult, using a potato gun for shooting and more. The camp will be held over two sessions, March 26-27 and March 28-29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Groups will be broken into two age ranges: from 6 to 8 years and 9 to 12 years. DISNEY HITS: Christian Youth Theater is offering a spring break camp called "A Ticket to Disney" on March 26 through March 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 7-12 and from 9 a.m. to noon for ages 5-6. Kids will sing, dance and act in a showcase, highlighting movies like "Tangled," "Hercules," and "The Lion King." The camp includes daily game time, team spirit competitions, theme days and more.
