Five Great ... Reasons to Embrace Fall

Pumpkin slices at Blue Goose Supermarket in St. Charles.The pools closed long ago, and the kids have been back in school for weeks now. But summer only officially ended on Friday. While it's hard to say goodbye to such a great season, here's why we're looking forward to fall. How about you?

* Wool sweaters.

* The changing of the leaves. (But not the raking of the leaves.)

* Good sleeping weather.

* Apple cider donuts, pumpkin pie, maple-cinnamon pull-aparts ... you get the idea.

* Halloween!

Love the leaves, but hate raking them. We got married in the fall because it is my favorite season, and also the season when we met. Fall must have worked some magic eight years ago!

Pumpkin pie. Warm, fresh cider. Tree-picked apples. Cooler weather. Football. Sweaters to cover the excess weight from the pies. Endless reasons to love fall!!!
